How Frankie Boyle and Emily Mathis combined for 2008's funniest moment
A bit late to the party with the "best of 2008" type things, but I really wanted to make sure this got a mention.
Frankie Boyle is without doubt the star of Mock the Week, and it's thanks to him that the funniest moment of 2008 on TV, in my opinion, came about.
Anyone who has been to one of his shows, or seen the out-takes DVD, will know that what we see on the Mock the Week is Frankie Boyle-lite.
But that's not taking into account that 2008 was the year the BBC regularly flogged itself in public, so it was only a matter of time before Mock the Week got the BBC News hairdryer treatment.
Over to Emily Mathis (and watch how hard Mark Thompson, director general of the Beeb, is trying not to laugh)
